Floating Mill

Floating Mill Campground is located on breathtaking Center Hill Lake in the rolling hills of middle Tennessee. It offers a variety of activities such as boating, fishing, swimming, and even hiking on the Lost Spring Trail. Many wildlife species can be observed while camping at Floating Mill including deer, wild turkey, and small game. The campground offers 118 sites. Campers travel from all around to visit Floating Mill's beautiful park and relaxing surroundings.

Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance and 4 days for group sites. This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on weekends and a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends. The campground is open April 12 - October 25, 2004 and sites range from $14-$20/night. A picnic shelter is available for reservation for for $50/day. All equipment must be on site. One trailer and 1 tent or 2 tents allowed per site. Check out time is 3 pm. All garbage must be disposed of before leaving. No alcohol allowed. Church services are held each Sunday at 9 am Memorial Day weekend though Labor Day weekend. Maximum 6 people per site per night; maximum 2 cars per site. More information about this area may be obtained by calling (931) 858-4845. Pets and alcohol are prohibited in the Day Use Area including in the Picnic Shelter.

Directions
From Smithville: from the intersection of U. S. 70 and State Route 56, follow State Route 56 north (Cookeville Highway) 9.5 miles and turn left to Floating Mill – Hurricane Marina. (The road will be the first on the left after passing the scenic overlook.) Follow signs to the park.

From I-40: Exit 273 and follow State Route 56 south 3.4 miles and turn right at the Corps of Engineers sign for floating Mill Park / Hurricane Boat Dock. Follow signs to the park.

Long Branch

Long Branch Campground is located below Center Hill Dam on the scenic Caney Fork River. A unique attribute of this campground is trout fishing below the dam. Campers also engage in other types of fishing, boating, swimming, and hiking above the dam. The Long Branch Campground offers 60 sites with electric, water and/or sewer hook ups. Additional amenities include hot showers, a dump station, a playground, a boat ramp, laundry facilities, a picnic shelter, and a fish cleaning station.

Long Branch Campground is open 1 April - 1 November, 2004 and sites range from $18 - $20. A picnic shelter is available for $50/day. Attendants are on duty and more information is available by calling (615) 548-8002. Maximum 6 people per site per night. Maximum 2 cars per site.

Directions
From Smithville: from the intersection of U. S. 70 and State Route 56, follow U. S. 70 west 5.6 miles to State Route 96 North (Dale Ridge Road) and turn right. Follow State Route 96 north 10.7 miles to Center Hill Dam and turn left before the dam on State Route 141 travel .4 (4/10’s) mile and Long Branch is located on the right at the bottom of the hill, adjacent to Center Hill Dam.

From I-40: Exit 268 and follow State Route 96 south 3.6 miles to the junction of State Route 141/96. Turn right and follow State Route 141/96 west 1.1 miles to Center Hill Dam, immediately after crossing the dam turn right on State Route 141 travel .4 (4/10’s) mile. Long Branch is located on the right at the bottom of the hill, adjacent to Center Hill Dam.

Ragland Bottom

Ragland Bottom Campground is located on the beautiful Center Hill Lake about 8 miles from Smithville, TN. It is settled on the rolling hills of middle Tennessee with beautiful dogwood blooms to decorate the area in the spring. The campground offers 57 sites with water and/or electric hookups. Additional amenities include hot showers, a dump station, a boat ramp, interpretive trail, swimming area, and public telephones.

From Smithville:  from the intersection of U. S. 70 and State Route 56 follow U. S. 70 (Sparta Highway) east 7.1 miles to Ragland Bottom Road.  (After crossing Sligo Bridge, the recreation area is 1.1 miles and will be the first road on the left at the top of the hill)..
